Kate and Brian held their rehearsal dinner in the back yard of the popular Albany, CA brunch place, Sam’s Log Cabin. This is one of my favorite brunch spots and I was delighted to learn that after hours they host private parties with a menu that goes far beyond brunch. Keep them in mind for your own event after 3pm! (See Sam’s Special Events page.) The menu is always organic and supports sustainable and local farming practices, including some ingredients from their own backyard. Also locally grown, chef Rhasaan Fernandez grew up in San Francisco’s Mission District. Sam’s first opened at it’s San Pablo Ave location in 1930, a Sears Roebuck catalog home built from a kit. It’s previous incarnations as a speakeasy, a roadhouse and a Golden Gate Fields betting joint preceded it’s current life as The Spot for locals at breakfast time.
Pro Tip for the private party: Bring along your favorite magician, and now’s that’s a party!
