Laura and Tim of San Francisco were married last summer at Cow Track Ranch in Nicasio, West Marin. Laura is a schoolteacher and Tim is co-founder and co-owner of Seven Stills Distillery.
This was a wedding of understated beauty and overwhelming quality. Cow Track Ranch features nature and heritage – a rustic scene, not a facade. It is an actual operating cattle ranch with all its grit and dust and creaks. Horsewoman Melissa Daniels, raised on this West Marin family farm, rides in, a true cowgirl in her pickup truck, to decorate and coordinate for the occasion. The beautiful landscape holds its own and a simple burlap aisle and modest florals let the natural hills, rocks, grasses and trees surround and bless the ceremony. The day was clear and warm. The couple themselves brought in vendors with a keen sense for quality from the spirits and catering to the DJ and decorations.
Laura and Tim exchanged vows in private before the ceremony and I witnessed a couple deeply in love, confident in their commitment. Friends and family could get behind this union full heartedly. It really was a perfect wedding, ending with a full moon rising.
