For Giving Tuesday consider supporting survivors of sexual assault. Traveling Heart Initiative (a part of Women’s Wisdom Initiative) provides lovingly handmade bags with post cards for victims enduring a “rape kit”. When you purchase a bag for yourself you also provide one for a survivor. Typical hospital bags are plastic and utilitarian, providing clothes and toiletries for a woman in distress. A traveling heart bag is intended to bring love and support at this time of suffering.
Carry yours as a symbol of solidarity – they should never become a stigma of rape, but a pronouncement of love and support. I carry mine proudly.
